‘My daughter watched, spellbound. I make notes to self. Take Cora to the zoo. Give her desserts with cherries on top. Generally, be a bit more like a monkey.‘ The Guardian

Nominated: Best Production for Young People Off West End Theatre Awards 2013

Hannah loves gorillas. In fact she's a bit obsessed by them. But this is probably a good thing, because her dad is a very busy man and he is always working. Sometimes Hannah wishes her dad was more like a gorilla, because dad gorillas play with their offspring.

With her birthday coming, Hannah longs for a very special present: her own real gorilla to play with. She's disappointed when her dad gets her a toy version, but then something magical happens - her toy gorilla comes to life, and together they embark on a thrilling, moonlit adventure.

Meet the world’s friendliest gorilla this Easter as we present the sell-out Polka Theatre production of the award-winning picture book by former Children’s Laureate Anthony Browne, brought to you by the team who produced CHARLIE AND LOLA’S BEST BESTEST PLAY and JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH.

For parents who would like to attend the Relaxed Performance we have created an information pack to help you prepare.
